The Merton Branch of the Association for Pastoral Care in Mental Health - APCHM (also know as "Being Alongside") is a registered charity that for over 20 years has run a voluntary befriending service for adults suffering from mental health problems who live in the community in the London Borough of Merton and neighbouring districts.

We need more volunteer befriending to meet an ongoing need - can you help?

In July we are holding our annual highly-regarded free training course for potential volunteers, run by mental health professionals and experienced brfrienders, at a venue in central Wimbledon. The course involves three 3 hour sessions, one on the evening of wednesday 4th July, and two during the day on Saturday 7th July (Lunch provided by APCMH Merton) .
