Bert Hyde

We are sad to report that Bert Hyde, the founder and chairman of Christian Care, died on Saturday 9 January in St Helier Hospital after suffering a stroke on Christmas Eve. He will be fondly remembered by everyone who knew him as a wonderful man, a helper and a supporter to many people, and a great member of Merton's voluntary community to the end.

The family have asked for no flowers but have suggested that donations in Bert's honour be made to the Christian Care Association, St Barnabas Community Centre, Thirsk Road, Mitcham CR4 2BD.
