Playwork training for early years and childcare workers

The Children's Workforce Development Council is helping to deliver the Children's Plan commitment to provide funded training for 4,000 playworkers to achieve Level 3 qualifications by 2011.

The programme covers aspects of playwork not usually covered in early years qualifications, for example, working with 5-15 year olds. It provides the opportunity to gain a recognised 'full and relevant' Level 3 Playwork qualification (in only 8 weeks). There are no exams: the assessment is assignment based and the training is free to eligible participants.
