Drugs & Alcohol
The EMC's Drug Awareness Project is to raise awareness among the black ethnic minority youths and parents about drugs and alcohol misuse, the impact on their lives, offer support and advice,publicise services available and to encourage use of services.
The drug programme is holistic in nature. It does not only raise awareness to the detrimental effects to the individual, carer,family, friends and the wider social costs to the community. EMC provides advice and support to community; refers people into treatment and assist treatment agencies in the retention of clients referred.
It also helps clients/victims back into the system who have been socially excluded as a result of unemployment, lack of housing, lack of education/training and claiming benefits etc...
