Mitcham Cricket Green Community & Heritage 

The Mitcham Cricket Green Community and Heritage was set up as an umbrella organisation, which could be involved in the all aspects of the Mitcham Cricket Green Conservation Area and its environs.

The Cricket Green itself is of historical importance, as are many parts of Mitcham, as cricket has been played on the green for over 300 years, making  the Mitcham Cricket Club the oldest club in the country, continuously playing on the same ground.

The area is one which is enjoyed by people of all ages and cultures, residents and visitors, who appreciate the recreational value of the area, and yet it is threatened on many sides by modern development and trends.

The organisation is supported by individuals representing all aspects of the community, and aims to maintain and improve the facilities, so that this historical and beautiful area may continue to be enjoyed and used to the full.
