Merton Mayor for 2012-2013 announced

Following cross party agreement at the full council meeting on Wednesday 23 November 2011, Merton has announced that Councillor David Williams will become the borough’s Mayor for 2012-2013.

Former council leader and current ward councillor for Hillside in Wimbledon, Councillor Williams will be officially invested as Mayor at Merton’s annual council meeting on 16 May 2012, when current Mayor Councillor Gilli Lewis-Lavender’s time in the position comes to an end.
