Background
Merton Racial Equality Partnership was launched in May 2000 with the duties of:
- Working towards the elimination of racial discrimination.
- Promoting equality of opportunity and good relations between people of different racial groups.
Mission and Purpose
Our mission and purpose as outlined in the Race Relations Act 1976 is to work towards the elimination of racial discrimination, promote equality of opportunity and good relations between persons of different racial groups. Our slogan is “working for racial justice and equality in the London Borough of Merton”. Our vision is to provide a high quality service that is available to all. We aim to be a leading organisation that has as its core values a commitment to equalities, an efficient and effective workforce, and a professional approach to work, a dedication to quality, and a service that is value for money.
