Training No.1 : Building a Culture of Participation
Friday 5th March 2010, 9.30am to 4.00 pm at Room B, Chaucer Centre
For managers, coordinators and directors of organisations in the local authority and voluntary sector.

The training will help you understand how to involve children and young people in policy, service planning, delivery and evaluation. It will enable participants to use systematic approach to embed a culture of participation throughout an organisation.

After the training, participants will:

• Have understanding of the meaning of participation and why it is important – as well as what effective participation involves and the benefits it brings;
• Be able to assess current practice within organisations through learning from best practices; and
• Identify barriers to participation being embedded throughout organisations, and provide strategies for change.
