Merton Play Partnership Action Plan Refresh Meeting - 24.02.2010
Merton’s Free Play Strategy was launched back in 2007 with 6 key themes:
- To raise the profile and understanding of Free Play ensuring that children and young people’s right to free play is recognised across Merton.
- To engage and involve children, young people, parents/carers and other stakeholders, in planning and decision making about play.
- To ensure that children and young people and parents/carers feel SAFE in play spaces
- To develop and improve the quality of play (playable) spaces across Merton for all children and young people.
- To increase the quality of play experiences for children and young people with disabilities in play spaces across Merton
- To promote the importance of recognising and developing spaces where young people aged 11-18 years can lead their own activities
The Play Partnership Steering group invites anyone, with an interest in children and young people’s play, to attend the next meeting to find out about the Free Play Strategy highlights so far and to get involved in refreshing the action plan (2010-2012).
