Could you help decide who gets Positive Activities Funding for youth projects in Merton?
If you are aged 13–19 (or up to 24 if you have learning difficulties) you could help Merton Council decide how it allocates its Positive Activities Funding.
The Positive Activities Fund is designed to support youth and play-based projects across the borough.
If you are interested in taking part, the council is organising a training course this February half-term on Developing Decision-Making Skills, followed by two days of decision-making alongside London Borough of Merton and local voluntary sector staff.
Participants will each receive an OCN Level 2 certificate in “Developing Decision Making Skills”, an attendance certificate and £100 for their organisation, enabling them to use their new skills with other young people to make decisions on how it will be spent to benefit their group, club, agency or project.
The project runs from 15–17 February, from 10.30am to 4.30pm each day at the Chaucer Centre in Morden. Participants must commit to being able to attend all three days.
There are 12 places available, with an allocation of a maximum of 2 places per organisation.
If you are interested in taking part or would like more information, see the attached document and contact Joyce Harvie, Integrated Youth Support Services Commissioning Manager by email: joyce.harvie@merton.gov.uk or by calling 020 8274 4901 Ex 2038.
The deadline is 10 February.
