New safeguarding guidelines for organisations working in schools: have you got the right checks in place?

As you may be aware, schools that use public sector staff no longer need to see individual CRB disclosures, as the appropriate check will have been carried by their respective employer. However, the need to check ID still remains to ensure that the right person is entering the school.

Schools and FE colleges are being asked to confirm that organisations have relevant checks in place and may refuse access if this is not confirmed. For more information see the attached letters from Yvette Stanley, Merton's Director of Children, Schools & Families.
